Dear Group Members
I must explain some additional facts about how and why
many new members were added to this group recently.
And what we must now do to minimise the inconvenience
being caused.
Why/ How:
1) The RTI Act has been reduced to a worthless piece of
legislation (toilet paper). The prime causes are
a) Corrupt Information Commissions,
b) NGO touts,
c) Misguided / Ignorant applicants,
Moderators of various Yahoo RTI groups decided a
few months back (just after Shailesh Gandhi was
made an IC - and the full shocking details of why
this was done - was informally conveyed to us by
highly placed sources) to collobarate to expose
these forces - a), b) and c).
2) The RTI_India moderators were nominated as
being best suited for this onerous task. Accordingly
the membership lists of other RTI groups like HJ,
RTI4NGO, RTI4empowerment etc were added to this group.
We were shocked to find that the member lists (and headcount)
of these other groups are highly inflated, not properly
maintained and stuffed with dummy names and hundreds
of bouncing email IDs. At RTI_India (being a 200 small group
essentially of invited members) we had never faced such
problems.
3) At RTI_India we now have a good (and genuine) list of
people interested in RTI - arrived at after a painful process.
Having so many committed people concentrated in 1 group has
caused the number of messages to escalate unreasonably causing
inconvenience to many members.
4) Accordingly, we are circulating a proposal -
"that for intense discussions a new publicly accessible Yahoo group
for "super-RTI stakeholders" can be created. The issues /
deliberations / conclusions of this group can be summarised to the
[RTI_India] group, thereby reducing the number of posts here.
Opinions are solicited.
