Dear All, Govt employees/ PSU employees know, how promotions are regulated in their departments, know loopholes, corrupt practices, so to expose these corrupt practices, persons if use RTI act, I do not think persons who admire this act should make any hue and cry. S.K.Kapoor

His indignation may not die. The advent of the Act, after 50 years of independant governance, will for sure create a situation where a lot of such people suddenly has a method of proving what they think is correct. One cannot find it as a misuse of RTI. RTI is the right to information. The best use of the same would be for general public interest. But one cannot say all lesser uses of the same is misuse. There are a lot of people who keep asking questions after questions. A good number of even honest officers feel it as a nuisance. A close heart in the beaurocracy was lamenting of a self acclaimed RTI Activist who bombarded him with about 200 querries - With great pain but no demur (may be due to the fear of penalty) within the time the information was given. Then what happens on that - Nothing. After a few weeks come another 100 questions, totally unrelated to earlier ones. Such acts will only belittle the use of RTI. I have now determined myself that unless I can find the time and resource to take things to logical conclusion I will not use RTI. RTI is a sharp sword. But one should not and must not use it unless he intends to cut. Over use may as well make it blunt. One person may not be able to change the entire world even with RTI. But small changes, one at a time, is possible. Practical. Let us try that. Let us not find fault though with one who puts the act to any lesser use, for satisfying their indignation.
