Dear All I had filed an RTI application to obtain some 30 years old land documents to PIO Collector Office Auraiya. The PIO forwarded this application to PIO Tahsil Auraiya under whose jurisdiction the villages were located. I received a reply from Tahsildar that no information was available with him. I have submitted first appeal and also a 2nd RTI Application to the Tahsildar for additional information. I am aware that before Auraiya became a district, the land records were archived at the district headquarter Etawah. The old records is not retrieved by the district Auraiya authorities - with a result that poor farmers are deprived of the benefits. This has created a lucrative opportunities to the middlemen and officials to indulge in corruption.
