As you says the signal 11 can appear when compiling any file. If you
compile some LONG program probably you will get this signal also.

You can try the following thigs.

-Change the memory simms
-Check is the microprocessor fan is working properly.
-Try to put termal paste between the microprocessor and the heatsink

I had some time ago this kind of problems in my desk machine and I
solved them with the tird option: the termal paste.
