I have a similar interest. I am most familiar with pSOS, but have used VxWorks,
VRTX, Lynx, SPOX, VMEexec, etc.

I understand from Sun that ChorusOS once had some "conversion kits" to allow using
existing software written for pSOS, VRTX, etc. with the Lynx kernel. Apollo
supported three O/S abstraction layers upon one kernel, including Unix and their O/S,
back in the mid 80's.

Please let me know what you find out.

Also, I am interested in adaptations of deadline scheduling to telecom and other
real-time systems, and would appreciate any comments that might pertain to that topic
within or without the constraints of this newsletter.
