As many other Linux users can confirm, Linux is far more reliable than
any version of Windows.  I have never seen Linux crash except when
running code specifically advertised as "alpha", but I have seen many
Windows crashes.  I'd never expect a Windows system to be useable for
more than a day or two; even if it doesn't crash it leaks enough
resources to get into real trouble.

I can't speak to Windows NT from personal experience, but you may
remember that even Microsoft acknowledges that WinNT users are all too 
familar with the "Blue Screen of Death".
