I found different articles on the WEB from which I got the impression that
RTLinux doesnot deal with the network interrupts as HARD realtime
interrupts, for example:

"Instead of having a realtime kernel that provides all the OS features as
realtime features, RT-Linux tries to separate the realtime
services and non realtime services. It leaves all the major OS features like
networking, device access (drivers), GUI system to the Linux
kernel, and provides very basic features for realtime processing."

>From the other hand your example is interesting, although I am not convinced
that the PPP connection is considered as a HARD realtime task...
