Configures and compiles, but I'm getting this several times during the ./configure run (I ran ./autogen.sh on my SuSE 9.0 beforehand):
rm: cannot remove `core': Is a directory
Because I built out-of-tree in a clean directory I didn't get the error :)

'core' may be a disadvantageous name....perhaps configure tries to delete 'core'-files from segfauled processes etc...
Yes, there are some code about this in configure. What to do? Do you have a better name at hand?
