Out of buffers. This is a symptom of some deeper issue, likely at driver
level. Is it a 8139too on the slave side?

Did you sniff the traffic with a third station? No packets at all? Is
that station able to receive all packets, i.e is there switch between
them forwarding only broadcasts or is it a hub? You can also try to
enable rtcap in the rtnet.conf and then run tcpdump or Ethereal on
rteth0 on both sides.

If there are no packet, this would mean that the master is not working,
the slave does not transmit anything without being invited.
