Hi Jan, I think it could also be an issue of the e1000_watchdog() function in the e1000 driver. When I get this right, will this watchdog computed frequently to check the current line state. And I think it has to be called to detect the correct line state. I am not quite sure, but I think, the same effect is with the "standard" e1000 driver as well. It takes fairly long until it actually can be used after loading the driver. However, I try to do a test on this and give you another feedback.
