Additional headers can only come in via specific configurations (RTmac &
Co.). They make the packets alien for any node not aware of RTnet, but
there is nothing cut off from standard UDP/IP frames.

If you want a basic setup just for UDP/IP communication with a non-RTnet
node, follow the README instruction regarding manual core startup.

The situation is surely not perfect, but there should be more
documentation than your feedback indicates. Have you checked the website
and the wiki as well? Keep in mind that real-time is in general no
trivial topic anyway. It's not a switch you flip or an addition package
you install.
