I am now back at work after a family emergency, I've just tried to start RT
manually and failed (I got it working using the rtnet script previously so
the hardware works). I did the following:

1. I loaded the RTAI modules: rtai_hal, rtai_ksched/rtai_lxrt, rtai_sem,
rtai_rtdm I think only rtdm was not already loaded.
2. I loaded RTnet modules: rtnet, rtipv4, rtpacket, rt_loopback, rt_e1000
3. I tried to configure the real time nic with rtifconfig rteth0 up
192.168.20.13 and I got an error "ioctl: no such device"

I remembered about having to create a node and used mknod /dev/rtnet c 10
240 but this told me that the file already existed (I guess from my previous
attempts)

I also stopped the non realtime ethernet and removed its driver using
ifconfig eth1 stop and rmmod e1000 and still I get the same error.

I have two network cards, one is on the motherboard connected as eth0 and
the other is a card and is eth1. I'm wondering if this is the reason why
things are not working, I know that when using the config file I could
specify the card using the cards option, I'm not sure how to do that when
setting up manually.
