if you can I recommend using Linux
all the screencasts I've seen about rails were made in Mac OS
as I do not have enough money to buy an Apple Computer and I do not intend
to install Leopard on my machine, I use netbeans 6.5 and Ubuntu Intrepid

Windows Installers assume you do not know anything about computers
