stripped the sbin part out...

Ran all the commands-

which gem
/usr/local/bin/gem

gem -v
Illegal instruction

which ruby
/usr/local/bin/ruby

ruby -v
Illegal instruction

echo $PATH
/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11/bin

(I also downloaded the latest iphone developer kit and installed it to 
be safe)
