I have had no problems getting ROR to work on Unbuntu 10.10.

All it takes is some patience and a basic understanding of computers
and how they work.

The key thing to do here is read....read the error messages, read
other peoples examples etc. The problems you are experiencing are not
ROR, Ubuntu etc, they are due to Linux being different from what you
are used to. This is an adventure away from Windows, so you need a bit
more patience, but once you relaize the awesome raw power of this
platform you will be happy.

Windows is like a large bus full of happy smiley people on their way
to a convention.
Linux is like a dragster waiting at the start line for newbies. Raw
power waiting for you to take control

Regards
Gary
