I'd say that "Returns True if mwm is running" means that it returns true if mvm is running. I guess that was a leap of faith on my part. > If a window manager wishes to camouflage as mwm (by supporting it's > protocols), then of course it has to set those properties. > > In fact, if anything, then this is what the passage you quoted hints at: > if you support the additional protocols, set _MOTIF_WM_INFO. I want borderless operation in WMs that support it, and a terminal that is still functional in WMs that don't. Instead I have a terminal that is both borderless and useless, or has borders, in the three WMs I use on a daily basis. > > I would imagine most users don't want to change behaviour by setting > > borderLess to true, only appearance. > > Maybe, but if it can't be done anyways, then why would those "most users" > request borderless operation in the first place? It CAN be done. Simply removing the check for _MOTIF_WM_INFO would make it work the way the old man page says. Borderless in WMs that support it. I can understand your reluctance. I'm all for following the standards, and fixing the broken packages instead of making workarounds. Is there any chance you would consider adding a separate option that works the way I'm suggesting? Judging by my google searches on this, it would make a lot of users happy. Something like attemptBorderLess? Thank you for your time. Cheers, Ole Christian Tvedt PS: This is probably my last post, so let me just say thank you to everyone for all the hard work that has gone in to urxvt. It is without a doubt the best terminal out there. ---- Still not on the list. Do the CC-magic!
