Hello Emanuele,

your are so right!
Without ibus-daemon everything runs very smoothly! No hangups anymore.
And if ibus-daemon is running and urxvt hangs, then a simple "ibus restart"
fixes it....
But why the hell? Is ibus so buggy? On https://code.google.com/p/ibus/ I see that the last release is from
2012-12-11 and supposed to be stable :-)

Why would I need this anyhow?
Everything works well without the ibus-daemon.
I couldn't find what the big advantage of using ibus is...

Thanks *a lot*!
This makes everything so much nicer, when I know that my tabs are not always
in "danger" of being lost.

Michael

Hello to all,

I'm very happy with urxvt, except one issue, where I'm not able to find the
reason nor a workaround. Maybe somebody here can help.

What I experience is, that from time to time when I close a tab in the tabbed
extension (or tabbedex) the whole urxvt freezes, so no keystroke is arriving
the shell (bash or zsh).

I can click still on the tabs, but I can not type in them anymore. I have to
kill the whole urxvt with xkill.

the culprit is likely ibus. Can you check that i) ibus is running on
your system; ii) when the hang occurs, restarting ibus with "ibus
restart" fixes the problem?

Emanuele
