while possibly related, the xim protocol does not support race-free input
method stopping while it is in use - stopping an input method while it is in
use can lock and crash other apps, and thats, afaics, unfixable and by design,
so this isn't that surprising.
it should work fine, of course, when ibus is running - so the original
problem is still a bug somewhere.
