Mostly, once I figured out how to do it - the main problem being that now I have to propagate the .terminfo around to various hosts I log in to, whereas the X-resource-based solution of xterm, like the earlier behaviour of urxvt, does not require that. Plus 'cursorBlink: false' is a little more self-documenting than 'cvvis=,' at the end of a file full of escape sequences.
