Exactly *that* thing I hate most in Mutt. I hate that *so* much and like
s-nail's idea of (taken from the manpage):

    define temporary_settings {
      localopts on
      set local_option1
    }
    account XooglX {
     localopts yes
     set from="Your Name <youremail@domain>"
    }

This is very convenient in my opinion!

Well, I will trust your decision. Environments, \gdef analogue: looks
not bad, at least they are not the global states as in Mutt.
