I think they have some potential, I've got a couple slated to become ULTX class X-3s with a bit of cutting on the tank and a lot on the frame. I also have two with scale trucks and couplers on the layout now, but am not fully satisfied as they don't match any prototype with such a simple conversion. But Paul asked about insulated preassure tanks (AAR class 105) and the AF cars are clearly plain jane AAR 103 class tanks.
