Ted & List,

I had an American Models GP35 that was being detailed as a PRSL GP38, but I
sold it when I bought a brass GP38-2 that will someday become the PRSL unit.
Anyway, I got the S Scale America now Des Plaines GP35 brass handrail kit
for it. It was a bit of a challenge to bend all the handrails just as they
were supposed to be, but the results are substantially better. I even made a
fixture to solder the stanchions perfectly vertical. If you look at the long
side handrails on the A M unit, they are essentially flat. The real
handrails curve around and follow the person up the steps. Furthermore the
slippery plastic that the A M handrails are made of is somewhat difficult to
attach to the body. That is not the case with the brass stanchions. Finally,
the wire (I now prefer phosphor bronze) is much crisper then the plastic.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
