All of our last travelling table tops have been cabinet grade plywood framed
as well as the "carrier" frame they set on. Quicker, more stable, won't
warp as they dry, etc. We glue and "pin" the frames together before screwing
together, then cover with Homosote. As I said this is a travelling 8 X 16
layout, probably doing its last trip this year. The most important thing we
found was that we make the frames too heavy. OOPS, can use far less material,
even for transport.
