Around here we just call those folks the "hard core Flyer guys." Before I
get flamed, there are no gals that we have seen in the group.
But you're right, it is a sub-group within a sub-group.
We also have some around here who only buy original Flyer or Flyonel, no
other manufacturer.

Gents...I am beginning to think there might actually be MORE than 1,000
opinions on this subject.  There are a few fellows out this way who
strictly buy and operate American Flyer trains manufactured by the A.C.
Gilbert Company.  In the minds of these fellows, products made by Lionel
are not genuine AF.  Their terminology distinguishes an American Flyer
layout from a Flyonel layout very distinctly.  Numerous shades of gray
to be sure.  Then again, as we all know, Californians are different --
everyone belongs to one fringe group or another.  There is no mainstream
