Shoot, most of us structure manufacturers would be thrilled to get half
that support. I have been creating and selling S structures for over 16
years now, and to date, not a single S building kit has come close to
selling 100 units.

When you consider there are 700+ members of this list and almost 700 on
the Sn3 list (figure probably a real total of less than 1,000 when
considering those who are members of both lists), it is hard to imagine
that a common, generic, inexpensive, small building - like our post
office or tool storage shed - would not sell over 100 units real quick.
  Surprise... it ain't happening.

As my good friend Jim K. and I used to laugh about - you can sell 100 of
anything in S; the first fifty might sell fairly soon, but the second 50
will last your lifetime.

As for the 'close to track' theory... our biggest seller to date is the
Cabin Creek Church. Go figure. At least S folks have got religion!

In reality, any S structure manufacturers had better be making HO and O
scale kits to compensate for the losses in S. We keep making S kits
basically to keep a few good friends happy; we sure don't do it for the
money.

As for asking the list what to make, that usually does not work. Case
in point, some months ago we released the Sn3 Covered Bridge and asked
the list if anyone would like it in standard gauge. Several members
responded in the affirmative. We released it several weeks ago,
announced it to the list, and even emailed those specific folks
directly... not a one has purchased a kit. But I am not surprised,
after nearly 30 years in this business, I know that talk is cheap.

Now please don't take the above as complaining or whining. It is just
the facts of the situation. We are in a scale where there are not
enough modelers, not enough layouts being built, and not enough new
blood coming on board. But if any of you are feeling the need to
support this dedicated kit manufacturer, Diane is sitting by the phone
awaiting your 20+ kit order!! ;-)

As for the guy wanting a two-stall engine house... we have one, and as a
reminder to you all, a lot more stuff at
http://www.btsrr.com/btsstrct.htm

BTW... we will soon have the totally-revamped Backwoods Enginehouse
available in both Sn3 and S standard gauge.

Now if you want to see a real kit going together, check out the photos
we have posted on the West Virginia Railroad Museum about the new
railroad bridge being built in town....

Watching this work is a real treat.

Take care
Bill
