I had a little time to check out my RDS-5 last night. Knock on
keyboard, it still is running good! I checked all those little
shafts(6-8 of them) plus the axle holes and everything seemed to be
doing fine. If you guys check out your models, open the split casting
and see if can remove the axle assemblies. On my RS-3 they wouldn't
come out without prying with a screw driver. The little short shafts
seemed to be okay, but if the wheels don't move you will eventually
crack all the nylon gears and you can ask Jack Troxell about that. Like
I mentioned yesterday, a few swipes with a file open the axle bearing
enough for them to slip in and out, although I suspect things will
continue to degrade.
