Dave,

I have thought of just purchasing "point soldering" & "filing" jigs
from Fastracks for regular turnouts (RH, LH & Wye) and just lay on
wooden ties over template printed onto 14" cardstock.

I intend to build a 2 x 12' engine facility diaorama, including a
kitbashed CMR 135' HO turntable and scratchbuilt (cut-away) roundhouse.
Also a 27" long pair of removeable / reversible lead (fiddle) tracks.

[i.e. inbound lead track loco goes through facility to roundhouse, as
another loco leaves roundhouse thru facility to outbound lead track,
freight locos will also get their cabooses cut and sorted by terminal
switcher. when one such cycle is complete, lift up and reverse lead
(fiddle) track]

To fit all this in such a small area intend to use a #6 double slip
(puzzle switch) & three-way. Although nothing mystical about these two
turnouts, they will require some precision to operate properly,
otherwise layout will be a drag.

That is my quandry. May just go with Tomalco on these two to save
precious time (I still work full-time & am happily married:)
Although I'd love to brag that "I did it myself", the reality is it is
better to simply get it done, than having everything in that perpetual
planning stage.

Best regards,
Dennis Hultay, Bloomfield NJ
