I guess the general opinion is that these cars are pretty good, but I
think most would agree certainly not up to today's standards. I don't
know that anybody makes much in the way of add-on parts anymore. I
think that Southwind (BTS) and Ladd Houda made lots of underbody parts
at one time, but those baggage, combines, and RPO cars look really naked
without stirrups under the baggage doors not to mention the usual
assortment of grabs especially those ladder holder ones on the roof. I
also think that the underbody on the RPO and baggage is the same as the
coach and that's certainly not right. I also think removing those AF
type silhouettes in the window is a must--those cars are not white inside.
I certainly run mine but I keep waiting for some kind of up-grade kit
that could improve them--but like everyone else I hate to mess with the
paint jobs.
