Hi guys, I'm a "newbie" on this list, although I've had a vintage Flyer layout for years. I'm thinking of tearing it down and rebuilding it on a more scale basis. The current layout measures 11X32. My new one would be a shelf-type perimeter layout in my 15X40 train room. I have to finish the walls, drop the ceiling and replace the windows before any of that will take place, so it won't happen overnight. Here is a link to my current Flyer layout which you can copy/paste into your browser:

If I rebuild, I'll want to run in a more prototypical fashion, using modern rolling stock. Here is my question to this illustrious group. Is the new scale rolling stock from SHS & American Models well-suited for a lot of yard switching with their Kadee couplers? I know that under the best of circumstances, vintage Flyer is hit-and- miss when it comes to yard switching, using vintage rolling stock with the huge knuckle couplers, turnouts & track.
