Hi all --
I think the baremetal foil will show wood grain, unless the wood has been
sealed and sanded. The stuff is meant to act as a "plating" and show all
detail... Otherwise, I think it is a great idea.

Earl, instead of painting the wooden roofstock of the JC Models
cars, have you considered using Bare Metal Foil? It is adhesive backed,
comes in various "sheens", can be cut into strips to represent the roof
seams and will eliminate the wood grain that is so difficult to cover,
especially with silver paint. Just a thought, never tried it myself in
this type of application.
