Dave,
Now you've uncovered one of my secrets. I enjoy the 2 footers enormously
including studying their history, but I'm something of a recluse. Large crowds
really do a number on me, although I think I'm getting a little better. That
1993 convention was my first and last. I manage to get through the big
Springfield show every year, but it can be tough. It's kind of embarassing
when you know guys like Mario Rapinett will be coming from Australia, but I'm
only 45 minutes away and won't be there. I very often visit the two foot
museums, but usually when they're closed :o) My brother-in-law is even a
volunteer at the WW&F museum, but I've never been there when they're open. Oh
well...

Ed,
If you have any interest in the Maine two-footers, the National Narrow Gauge
Convention is next week in Portland. I believe you are not too far away.
There will be a Sn2 (and Sn3) modular layout there, plus Bar Mills (the
building kit manufacturer) will have his Sn2 layout open by appointment
(plus his business and his N scale layout). His Sn2 layout was featured
recently in RMC.
You won't find standard gauge stuff at the vendors, but there will be
several structure manufacturers there to give you a good idea of some of the
buildings and detail parts available in S. Plus S narrow gauge stuff also,
of course.
Because the convention is in Maine the year, the 2-foot modelers are pushing
2-foot railroads this year. I noticed you have modeled in On2 in the past.
Here's a link for more information.

I'm heading to Maine tomorrow morning to do some sight seeing before heading
to Portland for the convention.
