Nay, nay, it was included in the "etc" part! (The BAR had a very
interesting locomotive roster.)

Well, suffice it to be said that my past is littered with New England model
railroading dreams and schemes... just never could commit to it. However,
I'm almost always game for a good book on New England railroading!

I'm in eastern Oklahoma in a town called "Poteau". It's a rather a
difficult name to correctly pronounce unless from the region. The wifey
pronounces it "POE toe" (likely correctly)... but us hicks slur it to
"Podo". (Us hicks don't really mean to, it just happens.) According to
regional folk lore, the name comes from a French word meaning "Post", as in
"outpost". Somewhere along the way, some internet model railroading
"friends" began to refer to me as being from "Patootey" (or resembling one),
and it kind of stuck.

So there you have it, more than you ever really wanted to know about Poteau,
Oklahoma!
