I "proto-lance" as you call it. Why? Because reality is so huge you cannot
really model anything but the tiniest of scenes in full scale. Because
there are locos and cars that never belonged together on my favorite REAL
railroad, but that I want to have and run. Because by having my own
roadname and decals, my railroad is set appart from everyone else's even
though we all have the same equipment and buildings. And, because I can
create a history that never existed in reality.
