I'm not familiar with the trucks, but did they have leaf springs? Caboose
trucks mostly did (yes, I know you can always find an exception somewhere), to
give a considerably better ride than the relatively cheap helical springs used
on regular freight cars -- merchandise seldom complained. My 64:1 CASO freight
crews will go on strike if I put helical-sprung trucks under one of their
cabeese.

Steam locomotive tenders, generally regarded as the worst-tracking of all
regular railroad vehicles, also usually had leaf springs in the 20th Century,
although here you may find more exceptions, especially on shortlines, than with
hacks, vans, brain cages, crummies, cabin cars, birdboxes or, ahem, cabooses.

regards ... pqr

No interest..., Anymore building trucks in brass is a pretty sure
money loser..., besides I already have all the NYC 19000 series
cabooses I'll need. If my memory still works, NASG actually
underwrote the production of 200 pairs of a "T" Section Bettendorf
style truck when we (NASG) built five versions of the ACF 10000
gallon tank car in 1986. As I recall they sold for $19.95 and were
snapped up pretty quick. Presumably some show up on the aftermarket
  on occasion.

Of course the NASG tank cars were 80 bucks and Walt's cabooses were
  $99 bucks. Times change...
