To all;
Following is a testimony to what I feel are some of the problems that exist
on Lists and S-Scale in general.....put-downs before a project even gets off
the ground. I don't know this individual, but I don't understand why, before a
project is even past the planning stage, he has to pass along discouraging
remarks to List members. If he wishes to correspond directly with me or Ed L,
then fine, do so off list. I don't consider this a personal slam, but why put
down a project publicly when no one has been scammed or cheated, and more
information will be forthcoming? I truly feel that Lists are a good place to
identify known scammers and cheaters, but this is not even close to that
situation. It's my attempt to try to get something worthwhile in S-Scale at
minimal cost and effort to NYC interested hobbyists. It appears as though
"thebrassbasher" feels compelled to bash for the sake of bashing, or just
doesn't know how to respond to messages posted on this List! Personal OPINIONS
should be kept discrete between individuals!

Ed:
I have done these trucks in brass. Dave used a pair on a flatcar
he is building. I was going to try and put them on the open market but
realized that they would be too expensive. The AM, SHS, old
Northeastern, and Ace trucks are so cheap that it would just have
given me a headache to mess with them. Everybody seems to think that a
pair of trucks should cost no more than $10 or $15 WITH the wheel
sets! The NWSL wheelsets alone run about $10. The SHS & AM stuff from
China is so inexpensive for such impressive models. It's what keeps me
at my regular job full time. Going into the model business in my shop
is a real dumb idea!
I have no idea of who plans on copy casting them but the bolster
will shrink and you will only be able to use SHS wheel sets. They have
a short axle length. The alternative is to make a new pattern for the
bolster. Maybe, just maybe, the journals could be drilled deeper
