Hello John,

I've always been blessed with the reality that, when ever I started a
permanent layout, I had to move soon after. I just rationalized that it was His
sense of humor. I even toyed with the idea of buying an old mobile home,
gutting it out and building my layout in it.

I later hit upon the idea of using some Sea-Land containers that have come
into my possession. I am in the process on putting them end on end to maximize
my run potential.

What I plan to do is to insulate them and use minimum heating and cooling.
Here in Texas, a well insulated facility is fine for all but the hottest and
coldest days when the layout is not in use.

portable storage sheds. Outside of the general climate control issues that lead
to expansion and contraction of the benchwork, track and models, what sort of
other issues might I run into?

The building I intend to buy if I decide to go this route is the "Utility"
model seen on the web site below :

Along with a "lease to own" purchase plan, this company offers various options
on their buildings such as different size doors and windows. So what would be
good options for window sizes and the heights of these windows? Any other
thoughts?

The size of the buinding will be 12' X 32' (outer dimensions).
