Howdy Vivamus,

Thanks for trying to distract the natives with changing the subject.. I HOPE
you succeed.

1. Which magazines are more friendly to S-scale news? The S-Gaugian appears,
from first look-through, to be primarily an AF publication. Or is that just
a reflection of AF popularity, and they do have substantial scale
information as well?

I guess I would have to ask what your intent is here. Are you looking to
submit an article of some kind? The NASG Dispatch is always looking for
submissions.

2. How about MR and RMC? Do they (a) ignore S completely, (b) refer only to
AF if they mention S, (c) give a nod to the fact that S is a scale for
serious modelers, or (d) actually have some S scale coverage?

Various members have had success with both MR and RMC in the past 1-2 years.
Ed L seems to be on at least the B list with MR. there is no real formula
for success. I was published in Mainline Modeler January 2004 issue. But
they closed about 2 years later.... Even a stellar article like mine could
not save them.

3. Does anyone know how popular S scale modeling is, and if its numbers are
growing or shrinking?

I have heard that there are 10 Sn3 modelers to every 1 standard S modeler.
Billy Wade would probably be able to comment on that point. My S Scale
collection is growing and my hairline is shrinking. I hope I answered your
questions to your satisfaction!

Numbers like this are hard to come by. There are any number of modelers in
any scale that are lone wolves that do not associate with anyone for some
reason. I have known some people like that. But otherwise, you will never
know about them. Again, the major manufacturers and retailers might have a
feel for it, but you can't arrive at even reasonable hard numbers IMHO.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
