Jim,
        I'll try to be the stand-in SPF since Bill is a bit busy these  
days.  I'll interpret Jeff's response as being from a guy who knows  
boxcars rather that an NYC guy answering a PRR question.  To add to  
his post, my lettering diagrams for PRR boxcars indicate that the  
"Initials and car number to be stenciled on or near side plate, on  
one side of car, inside".  These are "1.5" below the top of lining",  
and "Initials and car number to stenciled on inside of doors-both  
sides of car."  One diagram even specifies which depression of the  
doors should be numbered!   These should all be done in 2" white  
lettering.  I figured that since you going all out on the interior  
you would want to add these.  Remember.  We are all Pennsy modelers.   
It's just a question of degree.
