It sounds reasonable to me, Don, except that I wouldn't let it stand in the way of producing content. Other thoughts on it?
_____ From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Don DeWitt Sent: Wednesday, February 20, 2008 3:12 PM To: [email protected] Subject: {S-Scale List} Wiki Home Page Organization Regarding getting things organized. I did not get involved with the recent scale vs gauge discussion but I would like to suggest the following organization to the home page As it stands now..... Train Sizes and Types Understanding Scale and Gauge G Scale O Scale Lionel S Scale American Flyer HO Scale N Scale Prototypes (real trains) If the S Scale vs American Flyer has been presented to keep feathers unruffled... what is going to happen when the hi-railers in either O or S or the narrow gaugers get involved? Also, wasn't some O AF made? How about: Train Sizes and Types Understanding Scale and Gauge Prototypical (real trains) Modelling Scales Scales greater than G Scale of G Scale of O Scale of S Scale of HO Scale of TT Scale of N Scale of Z Then within each category, include: for example.... Scale of S Small wheel flange (e.g "Scale") Large wheel flange (e.g. Hi-rail & American Flyer") Then with "Scale" or "Hi-rail & AF", add more categories? With this organization, people will learn how things relate to each other by the choices they make....and that is a good thing. I agree with someone else today, that the organization really needs to be worked on before we get too deep into writing articles. Just my 2 cents. Back to S-MOD standards....
