In the same vain:
We were getting our house reappraised a few years back and only my
wife was there.
Unlike a good deal of the country, San Franciscan Victorians don't
have basements and since we are not on the 3rd floor,no attic either;
so my layout is in the 3rd bedroom.
My wife said the appraiser was shocked to see my layout to the point
of speechless then uttered the words, "you are an angel to allow this".
Luckily I wasn't there because I would have kicked her out.
Considering I just about rebuilt the thing myself with my own hands,
I take offense to the 'allow' statement.
