Jerry, I have given up on trying to figure out what would be an acceptable,
widely attractive passenger car for S scale folks, in kit form or otherwise.

Seems that there were so many versions of so many cars that when one gets
right down to it, there is little consensus.

I, for instance, would like to see the appropriate heavyweight and/or
streamlined versions of UP, ATSF, Rock Island and Chicago & Alton. My best
guess is that the best seller might be the NYC and ATSF, with Pennsylvania
thrown in for good measure.

I am not expert enough to say how much crossover there might be among the
roads. Problem is, though who are the most expert are your biggest market.

Others will have more and better input. For my layout still in my head, some
scale length 80-footers would be OK, no matter if the X railroad did or did
not run a particular type of baggage, OB or RPO car.

I have always thought that what MIGHT work is to produce just the cars for
whatever roads that were similar, and there were some I'm sure, and produce
an undecorated car, making available various accessories such as antenna,
etc., to customize for a particular road. But what do I know...?

Best of luck, and I will watch the progress of posts with interest.

Cheers :)

kits or?

Hi Roy,
I recognize you name. I was president of the Denver Narrow Gauge
Circle club a couple of years ago. they speak narrow gauge! anyway,
thanks for the heads up. What I understand is that there are NO
passenger car kits, per say, for 1900+ - . I have developed and sold
resin kits (Sn2 WWF and am working on a couple of for On3 & On30). I
am considering making a laser or resin kit for some "older" passenger
cars. I would consider some input on what might me more sale-able to
the general S scale masses(?). Any thoughts?
