I'm building my version of the TH&B Welland Sub (Hamilton to Welland)
with a timeline about 1970 -80. Overall the layout is approx. 16' x
13' shelf type with hidden staging in my workshop. The benchwork is
L-girder using 3/4" plywood ripped into 1 x 4's topped with 1/2"
plywood and homasote. The track is handlaid code 100 Micro
Engineering rail with Fast Tracks #5 turnouts. I'm powering the
frogs using Caboose Industries 220S powered ground throws. The
control system is DCC using MRC Prodigy Advanced 2. There will be 3
towns (Hamilton, Smithville and Welland) with hidden staging for
Toronto and Pt Maitland. Because of the ownership by Conrail and CP,
I can justify alot of different power as run through. So far I have
about 60 feet of mainline laid.

For something different I'm sharing my experiences building this
layout with the other members of S Canada by writing articles
for "Canadian S Scale Quarterly". So far my first submission was
publised in Issue 63 and I have submitted a 2nd article for future
publication. My intention is to do an update every 6 months.

BTW Andy, if you can get Leaf tickets you're a better man than most!
