Hi Tom;

I think the 1/64 die-cast truck makers are also living in a world more like
what UP wanted for model railroaders: don't use the logos without paying a
license fee. Tonkin's work-around is to only produce models with real markings
on commission from the logo's owners, and give them a break if they let Tonkin
sell some to collectors as well as the handful needed by the company as
give-aways to shareholders or employees. This is based on what I used to read
on some 1/64 truck collector's forums.

I think realistic decorated containers would do a lot better than his
"blanks," but I suspect we 1/64 model railroaders are an insignificant part
of the die-cast market. Though it won't hurt to try to let him know what we
want.
