My knowledge base is exceeded only by Sarah Palin and Nancy Pelosi.
Actually, the various HO guys that circulate through here bring a lot
of ideas with them. So do the On3 guys. Just a matter of rubbing
elbows with lotsa other train guys rather than being a lone wolf
modeler. Ideas are always floating around all over the place. Just
yesterday a new fellow came over and suggested we operate the main yard
using an I-Fone (sp?). This can be done using the touch screen and a
web site complete with turnout controls, signals, point position
indicators, etc. He is the VP Engineering at a local software company
and gave me an elaborate description of how he could make it all work.
A neat concept -- a wireless control panel -- but way over my head.
The mighty NYC will still use pushbuttons and copper wires even though
it is archaic in the minds of some. Living here in Silly Cone Valley
is a hoot!

Bob...No need to cringe....just beef up yer drive train and put a fuse
in series with yer motor. Fuses are cheap!
