OO = Oddly Outdated. Just to stir up more trouble, is it time to modify the name S Scale to differentiate the equipment. Just like "n" is used after a scale to designate narrow gauge or "w" for wide gauge (for you modelers in Victoria and India), maybe it's time to go Ss and St for scale or tinplate.
Or, to attract more attention from the Ordinarily unknowing, how about SHO, for Superior to HO?
