I did a GP10 in O scale last year and would imagine the S scale version would be fairly similar. Des Plaines hobbies has a GP9 short nose kit which you could cut down for the chop nose and also to form the cab top number boards. The forward facing cab windows could be fabricated from styrene (I don't know if Des Plaines makes this part, they do in O scale) and additional grill are also available. The hood top air filter would probably need to be scratch built. Good luck with your project Colin _____ From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of robyntw247 Sent: 31 October 2008 01:53 To: [email protected] Subject: {S-Scale List} Illinois Central Gulf GP8, GP10, & GP11s and Seaboard System GP16s in S scale. Has anyone built or attempt to build a ICG "Paducah Rebuild" (the GP8, GP10, or GP11) using the American Models GP9 as a starting point? If so, any advice on what parts are needed? Also, I wish to build a Seaboard System GP16 (a rebuilt program from the early 80s that used GP7s, 9s and 18s as a starting point)? Has anyone ever built one in S?
