If I were going to attempt to assemble any of the above captioned
locomotives, I would start with the Des Plaines/S Scale America #164
EMD short hood kit. It is a flat kit that makes it quite easy to do
a chop nose. If your target loco started as a GP7 then I would use
part #160 which is the GP7 long hood, then you wouldn't have to fool
with louvers. For the louver fools, there is part #122 louvers.

The AM GP9 is an incredibly good foundation for virtually any EMD
first generation GP. Although technically a second generation GP, a
GP20 can be assembled as well using #163 GP20 long hood. If you are
doing the GN or WP hi-nose 20's then the aforementioned kit #164 is
good and for the rest of the planet kit #125 low nose will do the
trick.

All the above kits are injection molded styrene that assemble iwth
you favorite plastic cement. We use Testors liquid.

Usual disclaimer apply. I am connected, and I do benefit.
