Michael,  Thanks for the information.  I'm not sure of the model number of my 
brush but I'd bet it's the 250.  I've had it at least 15 years but have not 
used it all that much.  Anyhow the info you have given me will be a big help.

  If you have a Badger 250, you will never be happy with the results,
  and pretty soon you will stop painting anything with an airbrush. Just
  say no.

  If you have a Badger 350, use the H tip (the largest) when coating a
  model with its basic color. A starting point would be 25-30 lbs
  pressure, a mix of about 8 parts paint to one part thinner, with the
  brush about 10 inches from the model. If you thin the paint more,
  lower the pressure. Adjust the tip so you can just barely see the
  paint coming out of the brush (this is hard to describe). I spray onto
  a scrap of something, it should look like the color is sort of
  appearing gradually. There are so many variables, everything from the
  weather to how fast you move the airbrush across the model. Maybe this
  will give you a starting point.
