Hi Ed, It's off topic but maybe enough of us are old enough to
appreciate it so I'll tell my SS story. I'd heard that it was hard to
deal with them so was expecting some problems when signing up last year.
I filled out their online application on their website at about 11
pm one evening, next morning about 9 I got a phone call from my local
SS office saying they had the form and it looked good and could I come
and give them a copy of my birth certificate. So I drove down, spent
about 5 minutes waiting then about 2 minutes talking to the guy and
that was it. The checks started coming :>)
