One wonders if at least some narrow gaugers are somewhat of a cult rather than
main stream. That might explain why so many of them are ng first, prototype
second, and "S" last. Now, I know some ngers and they seem like nice people but
so often their loyalties seem to lean toward the models rather than "the
people". Personally I am a ng fan, have ridden Silverton several times-first
time in 1962, CATS-1st time in 2nd year of operation, East Broad Top-1st year
running again-1959? (I forget). Anyway, I find it all very interesting but I
think, for me, modelrailroading, the old circuit letters, the magazines, this
S-Scale internet group, the conventions all kind of boil down to creating a
group of life long friends. Rollie, Rusty, & Gary said it all very well. I just
wanted to get my 2 cents in. Thanks to all of you for your friendship and Happy
New Year.
